GENERAL MANAGER

Job Mission:

The General Manager position will have overall operational responsibility for all day-to-day dispensary activities at Flor’s flagship dispensary in Union City. The General Manager will provide leadership to the dispensary staff and serve as a liaison to Senior Management, keeping them abreast of operational changes, challenges, and client satisfaction. The employee in this role is responsible for individual and team results, and must be an experienced people manager with the ability to multitask, communicate effectively with others, and motivate a team to provide exceptional customer service to dispensary customers within a dynamic and fast paced retail environment.

Essential Functions:

  • Ensuring that performance and profitability goals are being met;
  • Managing and directly supervising dispensary floor staff, including all supervisors, front of house (FOH) retail associates, back of house (BOH) inventory associates, and curbside retail associates;
  • Overseeing and administering Retail METRC transactions and ensuring the store and associates are METRC compliant
  • Leading education and training to all dispensary staff working within the operation;
  • Leading a performance management process to measure and evaluate operational systems against the goals of the organization; including documenting performance issues and carrying out discipline per company policy
  • Providing strong day-to-day leadership within the operation; including leading by example
  • Utilizing situational awareness in identifying critical needs within the operation and creating immediate plans of action to mitigate emergencies;
  • Uphold the development and coaching culture within Flor, including training, development, compensation increases, employee relations, performance evaluation and recruitment;
  • Providing effective and inspiring leadership by being actively involved in all programs and services, developing a broad and deep knowledge of all operational systems implemented by the organization;
  • Working closely with the Regional Sales Manager of Retail in all aspects of management, including administrative and financial duties, such as the creation of staffing schedules and assisting with interviewing and hiring;
  • Managing and cultivating existing relationships with customers and vendors while endeavoring to seek new ways of finding new customers;
  • Interpreting data and benchmark metrics that measure performance and create meaningful customer value streams identifying specific customer needs;
  • Other retail, sales or management duties as assigned and trained


Required Education, Skills and Experience:

Education and Experience:

  • BS / BA Degree in Business and or Operations, or the equivalent in documented work experience.
  • Must have 3 – 5 years professional experience in retail with supervisory/managerial experience, preferably with Cannabis experience
  • Experience with using POS software for retail and willingness to learn new software and systems

  • Ability to develop and present detailed sales operations performance reporting
  • Must have demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite preferred
