PROJECT ANALYST, RETAIL EXPANSION

Job Mission:

The Project Analyst, Retail Expansion works simultaneously on multiple projects, has strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, and knows how to execute projects effectively. This individual is expected to have excellent organization skills in order to be able to manage diverse projects of the largest size and complexity and related complex assignments. The Project Analyst, Retail Expansion has extensive education, training, and a background in planning, design and construction of building projects. The Project Analyst will have been, and will be, responsible for retaining and directing professional consultants and contractors and for directly managing and facilitating interactions among diverse, multiple internal and external team members. This individual is the primary internal coordinator for the structural department tasked with overseeing the general development of the team to continuously improve their ability to execute their roles effectively. 

Essential Functions:

  • Coordinate and manage project teams and their deliverables based on internal and external resources 
  • Proactively balance the scope, schedule, budget, quality and risks of each project/deliverable, including reporting requirements for time, expenses, progress, etc
  • Collaborate with the Retail Expansion team, architects, consultants and subcontractors
  • Conduct consultant engagement and project initiation, including proposal development and post-engagement retainer work
  • Communicate effectively with elected officials, city staff, police, chambers of commerce, and other stakeholders
  • Participate and manage strategic planning, budgeting, contract initiation, and cross-project resource sharing, as assigned
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Responsible for any delays, emergencies and problems that may arise for the project
  • Report project progress to Expansion Team
  • Create a calendar of expansion activities, including meetings, due dates, development, and other important dates for the projects
  • Nurture new and old relationships with collaborative partners
  • Lead multiple work streams and/or project teams to execute against project plans
  • Promote, manage and deliver the continuous improvement of project activities and seek opportunities to connect outcomes with other projects/priorities
  • Display effective organization skills and manage multiple and often competing priorities
  • Demonstrate strong capabilities to engage directly with Executive leadership on strategy and be able to pivot to granular detail within working teams
  • Demonstrate strong reporting and communication skills across all levels, for example, team/organizational updates, leadership escalations, detailed working group notes, etc.
  • Drive the creation of integrated project plans and timelines, including through facilitating requirements gathering, setting role, responsibilities and expectations, brainstorming options and solutions
  • Drive standardization of delivery and activities to provide efficient service, as well as knowledge sharing and supporting related teams/projects
  • Demonstrate sharp attention to detail in executing and reviewing work products to ensure the highest quality deliverables in the allotted time frame
  • Plan, organizes, coordinate, and communicate vital system changes/updates before submitting or completing a project
  • Evaluate and make recommendations concerning overall plans and proposals for component programs and projects impacting the accomplishment of Retail Expansion strategic directives, including new interpretations and recommendations for additional policies and interpretive guidance
  • Travel as needed (up to 10% depending on location and assigned projects) and occasionally in small planes
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Education, Skills and Experience:

  • Education
    • Associates Degree in Public Administration (Bachelor’s degree preferred) or the equivalent in work experience
  • Experience
    • A minimum of 2 years of Project Management and Development experience
    • Experience in active research to design new projects and to prepare and present new ideas to improve current processes which impact the business.
  • Skills
    • Excellent communication and report-generating skills;
    • Strong research and report-generating skills;
    • Ability to multitask and prioritize;
    • Detail-oriented and highly organized;
